Cheapside runs east-west through the City of London from St Paul's towards Bank and is one of the oldest commercial streets in the capital. The present-day building stock reflects this long history overlaid with significant twentieth-century change: medieval street alignments remain, but most of the visible fabric is post-war reconstruction following bomb damage, 1980s commercial redevelopment around One New Change, and more recent office schemes.
